Weekly Rides Update - 6.25

Picture from a Team NeighborLink ride on the north side of Fort Wayne.

Riding as a group is almost always more fun than riding alone, but it isn't always easy to align all the stars and schedules to find a convenient time for everyone.  So, here are a couple of rides that I've been checking out in the month of June as a point of connection for us all. I realize that we're not quite ready to have our own ride and it may be easier to join an existing ride.

Monday Nights - 6pm - FW Outfitters & Bike Depot - Avg pace is 17-18mph over 25-35 miles. This past Monday night, there were 8 riders and we did 26 miles at about a 19mph pace. The group stays together and won't drop anyone.

Tuesday Night - 6pm - 3RVS Cycling Club - Carroll High School - This is a 20-22mph group and requires some strong legs. They will do their best to keep you in the draft to keep you from dropping, but if you're quite a bit different in pace, they'll probably ride away. If Team NeighborLink riders join this ride, we'll commit to hanging on the lead group as long as we can and when one of us drops, we'll all drop back and ride together.

Thursday Night - 6pm - 3RVS Cycling Club - Carroll High School - Same group as Tuesday night, but the pace is slightly lower at 18-20mph. If Team NeighborLink riders join this ride, we'll commit to hanging on the lead group as long as we can and when one of us drops, we'll all drop back and ride together.

If a more committed plan comes together, I'll make sure to let you all know. I'm (Andrew) planning on making Monday nights a regular ride date for me because of FW Outfitters close proximity to my house. There are some guys that live real close to Carroll Road that will likely make either Tues or Thursday part of their routine.

All that to say, we want to make sure you know there are always guys/gals to ride with. We just have to commit and make a point to reach out to everyone.
