Great 80 Race Adaptations
Based on some feedback we're getting, two things are coming up that seem to be holding people back from joining the event.
1. "I can't seem to get a team of 5 together." We want to extend the offer to any team that can get 3 or 4 riders and are still willing to pay the $150 race entry fee. Don't let that 5th man prevent the 3 or 4 of you from enjoying this event. You won't be in the running for the overall win, but it won't matter because you'll be enjoying a great day on the bike with friends.
2. "80 miles is a really long way." It definitely is, but we think you can do it. The benefits of riding in a team make a world of difference. You have teammates to take turns breaking the wind, to talk to and be encouraged by, and if you get really tired, they can give you a push to get you home.
Still too long but still want to participate? There are a few route cuts that can be made to reduce the total number of miles. There is one route that cuts it down to 65 miles that we know of. I'm sure there are others. If you want to take this opportunity, the only requirement is to have an adventurous spirit that can find your way back to the Finish line. We'll be happy to help you with this, but we need to know in advance. Send us a note when you register.
I'm sure you may have other questions and we'd be happy to answer them. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
