Night Moves Race 4 - Final Details

Team NeighborLink is grateful you’ve decided to participate in Race #4 of the inaugural Night Moves Running Series. It takes a curious, self-motivated, and adventurous person to volunteer with NeighborLink Fort Wayne, and we’ve learned it takes those same traits to find our Team NeighborLink events exciting and worth trying. Night Moves will be all of the above with the right amount of security, direction, and organization to make sure every aspect that can be controlled, runs smoothly.

Below are some final details about the event that should give you direction. If you have questions not being answered, send us an email and we’ll reply as soon as we can.

Check-In/Start Location: We’ll have a Team NeighborLink tent up on the sidewalk in front of Anchor Films on East Berry St  Please visit this tent to check in, sign our waiver, and grab your thank you gift.

Event Timing: Check-In opens at 9:30p, Race Welcome & Final Instructions, 9:55p - Race Starts at 10:05p

Bathrooms: Anchor Films is partnering with us and has graciously offered their restroom to us.

Sponsors: Anchor Films is hosting the before & after parties in their fantastic creative space. Summit City Brewerks has partnered with us as well though gift cards and welcoming any athletes into their bar post-race for a beer. Both of these businesses are making East Berry St a destination and we’re stoked they would want to help make this event happen.

Course Details: Race starts in front of Anchor & SCBW and will head East over the Anthony St bridge north into Lakeside neighborhood. Runners will head up the icon Forest Park Blvd and weave your way through this incredible neighborhood all the way back to Lakeside park. From there you’ll head back south on Crescent to East Berry and back to Anchor.

Course Map: This is 95% correct based on what we could do via GPS. The rest will be clearly marked - https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/9988774

Course Marking & Direction: We will have a dozen cyclists with flashing lights riding with the runners who will know the course.  The route will also have spray chalk markings at every turn on the ground so you can see where to go. We don’t want you to get lost, or at least that lost.

Open Course: This course will be an open course, which means there will be cars and traffic to be aware of and be courteous to. We’ve done our best to choose low-traffic streets, utilize bike lanes where possible, and make sure there are sidewalks for those not up for running in the streets. Be aware of traffic and use your common sense when crossing streets just like you do when you run on your own.

Timing & Results: We will have a mass start and a running stopwatch as a means to make sure the first male and female runners get an official time and we can determine a winner, but we won’t have a fancy timing system to keep your time for you. This is a fun run and not a competitive event. If timing is important to you, then I imagine you already have a running watch or GPS that will keep that for you.

Winners: We have a fancy custom engraved hammer trophy for the winning Male and Female runners. They’re sweet!

Parking: There is some parking to the East of SCBW and West of the Anchor Films building and when that gets full, you can find parking on the side streets. Shouldn’t be a problem.

Rain Policy: The forecast is calling for possible showers, which will just make the race that much more interesting. We will run the race in the rain as long as there is no lighting/thunder in the area. If it’s down pouring right before the start, we will take coverand try to wait for it to let up a bit before starting. If for some reason the event needs to be canceled due to weather, we will give each participant the opportunity take a refund, transfer to a different Night Moves date, apply it towards Team NL gear, or just let it be a donation to NeighborLink.

July 17th Event Swag: Each runner will receive a $5 Summit City Brewerks gift card and have the option to choose from a Night Moves t-shirt, a Team NL stainless steel pint glass, or receive one of our 20% off gift certificates that allows you to purchase some official Team NL gear.
