2.17.17 Update - Bikes are still available!

The time has come for Team NeighborLink to sell the two 2017 Giant Bicycles TCX Advanced bikes that were generously donated to us for the 2016 cyclocross season and ridden by Josh Johnson all season. Josh is a Cat 1 racer and former professional rider for Giant Factory Off-Road. Josh is a huge fan and former intern at Team NL who decided to help us develop and launch the TNLCX team this season. Josh road these two bikes to several victories including a UCI-C2 win this season. They may not make you as fast as him, but they sure won't hold you back.

Josh has been racing Giant Bicycles for quite a few years now between his time on the Giant Factory team as well as his role in the Bissell-ABG Giant elite road team the past several years. He's also been a customer and friend of Bicycle Garage Indianapolis' owner, Scott Helvie for several years now. Finally, Josh is an employee of SRAM at the ZIPP facility in Indianapolis. Those relationships allowed us to get the attention of Giant Bicycles to pitch them the concept for our team, which was graciously supported in the form of donated frames, helmets for the team, and access to cross bikes for the rest of the team members. Having the opportunity to have matching team bikes and helmets brought the extra level of professionalism that we needed to have the impact we did.

Scott at BGI is a major lynchpin of this entire campaign by helping us with Giant, donating a frame to the cause, and helping get the bikes built up for Josh.  He desired to see BGI connect to our team because the whole program was focused on raising awareness for needs going unmet in his community of Indianapolis, and not just because we're a bike team with some good riders.

SRAM went above and beyond with their support of our campaign by helping us equip both bikes with hydraulic Force 1x drivetrains and ZIPP wheels as well as inviting the team to be a part of the SRAMbassador program. Josh ran a combination of ZIPP Course 30 tubular and Firecrest 303 tubular disc wheels all season.  SRAM and SRAM employees have a history of being heavily involved in Indianapolis community initiatives and organizations working towards improving the quality of life of its residents. Partnering with us is an extension of that ongoing support.

The generosity of BGI, Giant Bicycles USA, and SRAM provided the foundation for our team and the campaign to raise $8,000 or more to replace at least 4 furnaces for vulnerable homeowners that physically or financially cannot afford to replace their broken HVAC systems. Please take a moment to read about the campaign and learn that we've already installed two furnaces!! You can watch a video & check out some photos as well. If you simply want to make a contribution, you can do so here. We're hoping to hit the $10,000 mark, but we can't do it without selling these bikes and your help donation help.

We would not have been able to set such a high fundraising goal without these bikes. Thank you just isn't enough in our minds, but it's what we have to offer. So, if you're the market for these two bikes or in a bike in general, consider a Giant equipped with SRAM and get it at BGI if you're within driving distance of Indy.

Ok.. Bike sale details.

Ideally, we'd love to sell these bikes to interested buyers before the end of the year. If we're not successful at that, then we'll move on to an eBay auction for one and a live auction for the other bike at a January party at BGI. So, consider upgrading your bike for a great cause. 100% of the sales will go to our fundraising campaign. Buy a bike, do good, and look super sweet!

Overall Details:

Below you'll see the details on the bikes and prices with no wheels as we have three different sets of wheels to choose from. If you buy the bikes outright, you have access to the wheelset you're most interested in that fits your budget. All bikes have been cleaned, gone through post season, and had any parts changed if needed to make it a solid, ready-to-ride bike. Each bike was built mid-September and ridden through the first weekend of December. We've had a mild and relatively dry season in the midwest, so bike only saw any real mud during one race weekend.
