Night Moves Race 1 Recap
We're thrilled to doing Night Moves again in 2016, and completely stoked that the demand from local runners has been so high that we're doing 9 events. We've had a dozen runners sign up for the full series and almost two dozen runners sign up for 3+ races already. We anticipate the momentum to build and to sell out each remaining race in 2016. Thank you for the support.
Night 1 had us located at the Holiday Inn IPFW, who generously donated a meeting room, provided water, and showed us their hospitality skills the entire night. Thank you! IPFW was also great to work with and welcomed us graciously as part of the course ran through their campus.
The course was right at 4miles and weaved from the Holiday Inn through the gravel paths around the Plex grounds and took runners over the bridge onto IPFW's campus. We weaved around the greenway path to the back of IPFW and then ran through the middle of the campus back to the bridge and then us a gravel hill to the finish line at Holiday Inn. It was a good mix of terrain and a fast course for the lead runners.
We had 41 runners take on the race. Paul Richardson won his 2nd Night Moves with the fastest male time of 25:53, and Dawn Winickee was the fastest female with a time of 29:49. Everyone else simply had a great time!
As always, we honestly couldn't do these events without the 15+ volunteers that bring their bikes and flashlights to go stand at every corner so runners know where to go next. We also couldn't do this kind of thing without the NL staff and key volunteers that take ownership of course setup, registration/check-in needs, and event support the night of. Thanks to 3 Rivers Running Company for supporting Team NL as well and having a presence at our events this year. Expect some fun things from them.
