Night Moves #3 was a fantastic night running through the streets of downtown Fort Wayne and surrounding areas. We took off that night from One Lucky Guitar who graciously allowed us to use their space as a venue for our run. We appreciate their willingness to support and host us!
The nearly 3.5 mile course went west toward Parkview Field, around the old General Electric building, continued south of the railroad tracks, and then finished back up Calhoun Street. This route allowed our runners to explore the southern portion of downtown Fort Wayne from the interesting perspective of a nighttime run.
Nearly 50 runners registered for this event. Our fastest male runner was Paul Richardson who finished in 22 minutes and our fastest female runner was Belinda Clancy who finished in 29 minutes. Overall, everyone had a great time.
We would like to thank our 20+ volunteers for taking the time to come out with their bikes and flashlights to help direct our participants as they ran the route. Night Moves would not be possible without their help and enthusiasm. Also, thanks to 3 Rivers Running Company for supporting Team NL and having a presence at our events this year.
The proceeds from race #3 will be put toward material costs to help a neighbor in need get a roof. Each Night Moves helps a different neighbor with a project beyond their physical and financial ability to meet on their own.
