2016 Night Moves #5 - Event Details

Tomorrow night is Race #5 of the 2016 Night Moves Running Series. It takes a curious, self-motivated, and adventurous person to volunteer with NeighborLink Fort Wayne, and we’ve learned it takes those same traits to find our Team NeighborLink events exciting and worth trying. Night Moves will be all of the above with the right amount of security, direction, and organization to make sure every aspect that can be controlled, runs smoothly. We're looking forward to seeing many of you there!

Below are some final details about the event that should give you direction. If you have questions not being answered, send us an email and we’ll reply as soon as we can. Invite your friends to join you last minute. We still have some space available.

Event Proceeds: The funds raised from Friday’s race will be used by NeighborLink Fort Wayne to help get a new roof for a homeowner in need.

Check-In/Start Location: The race will be starting from Anchor Films  We will meet in their studio on the second floor of the building. Please visit this area to check in, pay if you didn't online, sign our waiver, and grab your thank you gift.

Pay Online: You may have signed up but didn’t pay online. You can pay the night of or you can take care of that online here

Event Timing: Check-In opens at 9:15 PM, Race Welcome & Final Instructions at 9:45 PM, and Race Starts at 10:00 PM

Bathrooms: There will be options within Anchor Films.

Sponsors: Anchor Films is graciously allowing us to use their space as a venue for this Night Moves. They will be providing some beverages and snacks for you to enjoy after your run.

Special Guests: Three Rivers Running Company will be joining us tomorrow with a 361 USA shoe demo for you to try out. Nutrition coaches from Cutter Fitness, Mallory and Maddie, will also be there to hang out and give free tests with their body fat measuring devices. Be sure to check out all the great stuff going on at tomorrow’s race!

Course Details: Since the route is starting at Anchor Films, we have the chance to explore the area just outside of downtown. To summarize, we will be running on the Rivergreenway along the Maumee River, through a portion of Lakeside Park, up Forest Park Blvd., and then back down and through the surrounding neighborhood. We’re excited for this new route!

Headlamps: The route is pretty well lit, but there are one or two spots that might be a little dark. If you have a headlamp, please bring it.

Course Marking & Direction: We will have volunteers/cyclists with flashing lights at every turn, pointing you in the right direction. We will also have some glow stick stakes marking certain parts of the route to help guide you. You won't get too lost if you do get lost.

Open Course: This course will be an open course, which means there will be cars and traffic to be aware of and be courteous to. Be aware of traffic and use your common sense when crossing streets just like you do when you run on your own.

Timing & Results: We will have a mass start and a running stopwatch as a means to make sure the first male and female runners get an official time and we can determine a winner, but we won’t have a fancy timing system to keep your time for you. This is a fun run and not a competitive event. If timing is important to you, then I imagine you already have a running watch or GPS that will keep that for you.

Winners: We have engraved shovels as trophies for the winning male and female runners. Our goal with winner trophies is to give you a tool that you’ll actually use at home and/or on a NL project one day in the future.

Parking: There are parking lots on the east and west side of Anchor Films as well as street parking in the surrounding area.

Rain Policy: There is a chance for some bad weather tomorrow evening. This event is rain or shine, the only reason we would cancel is in the case of lightning. We will make that call right before the start of the race so even if the run itself is cancelled we can still hang out at Anchor Films. If we do end up canceling due to weather, we will give each participant the opportunity take a refund, transfer to a different Night Moves date, apply it towards Team NL gear, or just let it be a donation to NeighborLink.

July 29th Event Swag: We'll have Team NL Night Moves t-shirts, water bottles, and socks available. Runners will have their choice of one item. Everything will be for sale that night in case you want to purchase a different item. Everything will be $10 the night of the event - $12 online at other times.

If you have any questions, please let us know. See you tomorrow night.
