Sam Takes 1st at JingleCross

TNLCX rider, Sam Berger-Butler, takes first place in the Cat 4 Under 35 class today at JingleCross in Iowa City, IA. Well done Sam, and thanks for representing the team all the way in Iowa. Taking your new Giant TCX with you to the top step was a great touch.

JingleCross has been a long standing staple of the UCI-level US cyclocross race season, and this year was able to become a stop on the World Cup series. Because of this incredible opporltunity to become a World Cup designated race, the race moved from mid-November to late September and attracts tons of European riders as well as even bigger fields of amateur racers wanting to race the same course as the top riders in the world.

The rain moved in on Thursday and didn't stop for about 24 hours, which as you can see, made for a very wet course. The event organizers were posting quite a few pictures of broken bikes due to the mud and crashes caused by it. One of our team friends, Corey Smith who races with No Limits, was taken out by another rider within the first 15 seconds and ended up in the emergency room. He ended with a gash on his knee, some road rash, and some sore ribs, but is doing well.

Lots of racing the next couple of days, including the World Cup races tomorrow. You can follow along at https://www.facebook.com/UCIjinglecross/?fref=ts.
