Night Moves is back! We couldn't have had a better time last Friday at the first Night Moves for the 2017 season. What a fantastic night running through through downtown Fort Wayne! Also, what better place to start the season off than with our long time Night Moves friends, JK O'Donnell's.

Our 5k route was a little different from years past. This year we ran through West Central, passed by Henry's, and crossed over the Wells Street bridge. From there we ran along the trail to the Old Fort, and crossed back over the pedestrian bridge into Headwaters Park. After stopping to smell the ribs at rib fest (just kidding), we went through the arts campus, and finally finished in the alley per usual. [More photos here]

61 runners registered for last Friday's run, and everyone had a great time. Our male champion for the night was Brandon Clayton who ran our course in 23:59.  On the female side, we had Dawn Winicker who dit it in 26:02.

Friday night would not have been possible without the help of our faithful volunteers. You guys really bring the energy needed to help our runners have such a good time! We would like to thank you for taking the time to help direct and encourage the participants during the run. Also, thanks to 3 Rivers Running Company for coming out to show support! We loved your enthusiasm.

We raised over $600 from this race and all of it went to helping a single mom named Chris, who needed a couple of doors and windows replaced in her home after a recent tragedy.

We love being able to help our neighbors, and each Night Moves helps a different neighbor with a project beyond their physical and financial ability. Running is fun, cycling is fun, but what really brings us joy is using running and cycling to help our neighbors in need. So, thank you all for participating in Night Moves!
