NIGHT MOVES | RACE 2 - EVENT DETAILS | ONE LUCKY GUITAR

The race is tomorrow!!!!

Team NeighborLink is grateful you’ve decided to participate in Race #2 of the 2017 Night Moves!

Below are some final details about the event that should give you direction. If you have questions not being answered, send us an email and we’ll reply as soon as we can. Invite your friends to join you last minute. We still have some space available.

Event Proceeds: 100% of the proceeds from this run will go toward a new roof project. Judy Cunningham is a senior who has needed a roof for some time now. We will be using the money from this Night Moves as well as some of our athlete ambassador campaigns to help pay for a new roof. You can view her project here: https://www.nlfw.org/project/3489

Check-In/Start Location: One Lucky Guitar. They are on the corner of Lafayette and E Douglas, but, you can find directions here: https://goo.gl/maps/P8uHuLUoyyj

Event Timing: Check-In opens at 9:15p, Race Welcome & Final Instructions, 9:50p - Race Starts at 10:05p

Bathrooms: There will be options within OLG.

Sponsors: One Lucky Guitar has been a great friend of ours and we are excited about them hosting another Night Moves race. You can expect a great atmosphere and vibe from these guys. Also, GK Baked goods will be providing cookies! You know those are going to be some good cookies.

Course Details: The race course tomorrow is sweet and its a guarantee you have not ran a 5k like this one before. You can expect TWO sweet running spots along the course and some… elevation changes! (please be careful on the stairs)

Headlamps & Flashlights: We would recommend bringing a flashlight or headlamp as you feel comfortable. There are portions of the course that will be well lit and the portions not so much. We will do our best to keep putting out glow sticks, but please bring a flashlight or headlamp if it makes you feel more comfortable. (Unless you have night vision goggles.. bonus points if someone has those)

Course Map: Trust me… this is going to be unlike any other 5k you have done this year.

Course Marking & Direction: We will have over 20 volunteers/cyclists with flashing lights pointing you in the right direction. For some of the sections of the course, we will also have glow sticks to help guide you along. There is one section where you can expect some twists and turns within a short distance. Also, please be aware and respectful of other pedestrians.

Open Course: This course will be an open course, which means there will be cars and traffic to be aware of and courteous to. Be aware of traffic and use your common sense when crossing streets just like you do when you run on your own.

Timing & Results: We will have a mass start and a running stopwatch as a means to make sure the first male and female runners get an official time and we can determine a winner, but we won’t have a fancy timing system to keep your time for you. This is a fun run and not a competitive event. If timing is important to you, then I imagine you already have a running watch or GPS that will keep that for you.

Winners: We have a fancy custom engraved hammer for the winning Male and Female runners. Our goal with winner trophies is to give you a tool that you’ll actual use at home and/or on a NL project one day in the future.

Parking: One lucky has some spots in their parking lot we can use. There are also a few nearby lots and street parking along Douglas.

Rain Policy: The forecast should hold out for this race. We expect a few thunderstorms during the day, but it looks like it will clear up that night for our event. If for some reason the event needs to be canceled due to weather, we will give each participant the opportunity take a refund, transfer to a different Night Moves date, apply it towards Team NL gear, or just let it be a donation to NeighborLink.

NeighborLink Swag: We'll have new Team NL t-shirts, tank tops, and socks available to purchase. It is our goal this year to lower the cost of entry for our racers. By doing this you can buy, at a discounted rate, the gear you would really want and actually wear at the event.

If you have any questions, please let us know. See you tomorrow night.
