Night Moves Race #1 YMCA Central Branch Recap
YMCA Central Branch! The first Night Moves of the year is done and dusted and boy did we have fun! Possible showers that held off, great friends gathering, and a great course made fore a great night.
Thank you for all that took part in our first of the year 4th Annual Night Moves. A huge thank you goes to Sam Gillie who designed this course. Sam did a great job of keeping our immersive and unique run style that lets you see great spots. We ran north through Frieman Square, Headwaters Park, and Science Central before looping east through some cool alleys. Looping into our local Greenway trails and coming back by the old fort and back over to Headwaters with a jog back to the YMCA. We couldn't of course offer such a great event without our volunteers. Thank you to all of you that came out and to the many that chose to not run and support the event instead.
Our change in format and an increasing amount of events similar and led to a bit of a worry on turn out, but we were reminded many people find great value in supporting a unique event while raising funds for Neighbors in need. This Night Moves raised nearly $700 that will go to fund a wheelchair ramp this summer. We focusing all our donations in 2018 from Night Moves on wheelchair ramps because we believe that we can help others gain mobility by celebrating our own. After each event, we'll be telling stories and illustrating the ramp projects we do this summer.
Thank you again for all that joined us and hope to see you June 22nd at the GE Campus Night Moves Relay!
Thank you @ Matt Karthol for some great shots.
