2018 Junk Ditch Night Moves Recap

We had a great time we had with our friends at Junk Ditch Brewing Company for the 2nd Night Moves Mini-Marathon Relay! With some guaranteed nice weather and a great course nothing was going to stop the fun from being had!

As teams arrived and checked in they were able to meet with fellow runners. New and familiar faces took to the 1-mile loop from the side of Junk Ditch Brewery to the front of Swinney Park and back. As Team Neighborlink Director Andrew Hoffman gave final instructions our amazing volunteers took to the course to light the way. Just as much as we love the athletes that take part in Night Moves, we love our volunteers that make it such a fun experience!

With volunteers set and teams at the ready, the horn went off and 9 teams and one solo runner took off. Each team would run 12 laps and the only two rules were to switch runners each lap and each runner had to do at least two laps. How each team managed their laps was up to them. This format makes laps and overall times really quick. The races broke-up quickly as different teams pace ranged with each runner. We also felt the humidity as darkness settled in across the course. As the teams finished it was “Long Distance Relay-tionship” and “Orange Crush” (wearing the new Orange TNL running tanks) finished 1st for the Men’s and Women’s first place teams.

Times were very impressive for all teams as well with all finishing in under 2 two hours! The winning team finished at 1:27 and the second place team was in at 1:36. With the run completed the winning hammers were presented and tasty brews from Junk Ditch were had!

We had a great time and can’t wait to have the relay excitement back in just a little over a month at the GE Campus on September 7th. Get signed up for that if you haven't already.
